Accessibility statement
We want everyone to be able to use this website, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, magnification or a small phone.
Our aim
We design this site to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA. This is an aim, not a certificate. The site has not been audited by an independent accessibility specialist.
What we have built in
- Every page works with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a “Skip to main content” link.
- Pages use proper headings, landmarks, labels and descriptive link text.
- Text and controls are designed to meet WCAG contrast ratios, and meaning is never given by colour alone.
- Form fields have visible labels, and errors are described in text next to the field and in a summary.
- Buttons and links are at least 44 pixels high on touch screens.
- The layout adapts to small screens and to zoom up to 400%.
- Animation is limited to one short moment on the home page and stops if your device is set to reduce motion.
- Photographs will carry descriptive alternative text.
Known limits
- The site is written in English. A Hindi version is available from the switch at the top right of every page. It has not yet been reviewed by a native Hindi editor, so some wording may need correction.
- The submission forms need JavaScript to send your message. If JavaScript is off, please use the contact details on the contact page once they are published.
- Content that editors add later (articles, program pages) depends on editors writing clear text and alternative text for images. The editing screen requires alternative text before an image can be shown publicly.
